Debate: Male Child is Better Than Female Child (5 Winning Points)

Good day to my panel of judges, accurate timekeeper, ladies and gentlemen. Standing before you is my humble self, here to defend a motion that says the male child is better than female child, with the below solid points.

However, before I start, I want you all to know that every child is a priceless gift from God, and no child should be placed as a priority over the other because no child or gender is better than the other.

Be it a male child or a female child, all children are important to every family as they all have different roles to play and also different purposes for creation, but for the sake of education and debate, I will be listing some advantages of having a male child in African homes.

Most of the points listed are advantages of male children in African homes like Nigeria and some tribes in Nigeria, so don’t take it to heart that a male child is better than a female child, because what a boy child can do, a girl child can also do, it is all about the mind.

Debate on Male Child Is Better Than Female ChildĀ

1. Protection of Family LegacyĀ

In most African homes, having a male child helps to keep and protect the family legacy, ensuring that the name of the family keeps going from generation to generation.

Let me give you an instance, when a man gives birth to two children, one male and the other female. The both grow up, the female child gets married out to another female, where she changes her family name to the name of her new family, while the male child remains with that family name.

So male children protect the family name and keep it going, they marry and bear more children having the family name going on, but for female children, the family name gets changed once they are married out, which is a big advantage for a male child over a female child.

2. Taking Over Family InheritanceĀ

This aspect is found mostly in African homes, where all family inheritance is channelled to male children or the male child. So if you have a male child, and as an African Dad, you are getting old, you have to hand over all inheritance to your male firstborn child, so he also passes it to his male child when he grows old, that’s how the inheritance keeps moving from generation to another generation.

However, if using childbirth, a particular child didn’t give birth to a male child, then that inheritance will be taken away by relatives like Uncles and others, by then the family inheritance circle has been broken, so this is why the male child is important over the female child.

Let me give another example, if a family is known for royalty, that is if there is a king in a family, and the kingship is transferred to every first born male child, then that family needs to be giving birth to male children so as to maintain that royalty, but when they fail to do so, the kingship departs from their home to another home.

So with the above instances, you can see reasons why male children are better than female children in most African homes, especially in Nigeria.

3. Family ProtectionĀ

Male Child Is Better Than Female ChildĀ

It is said that male children always offer great protection to families they are born to because of their nature, physical strength and others, it scares some people away, especially a family that has many male children.

The aspect of protection I am referring to is seen in African homes, where relatives may want to come and take away properties the family have if the head (father) dies. But when they have a male child or children, it is very difficult to such oppression from relatives because they know the male children are there to protect the home.

So in the aspect of protection, male children can do it better than female children, so I will say they have more advantages in all African families.

4. Family ProvidersĀ

Most atimes, we see the male children as the providers of the family, just as the father is a provider, every male child tries to learn from the father, and offers food provision to the home.

You can hardly see a female child working hard to provide for the home, especially now that we have many lazy girls, but the boys or guys, work hard all the time to ensure that they can support the home with little, so it helps keep the father at ease and lessen work for him in the aspect of providing.

Let’s assume a man has 5 male children, when they grow up, they will help offer support or help in some family bill Payment, which helps to reduce duties or lessen duties for the father, but if the family has more female children, the demand even becomes more on the father, so this proves that male children are important.

5. Family SupportĀ

Lastly, another reason why male children are better than female children is the aspect of offering family support just like I earlier said above. Every family with male children gets more help from the men as they grow, more than female children.

When it comes to financial assistance in most homes, the male children do that most, more than the other gender. You will see a male child paying for his siblings’ school fees and paying medical bills, but hardly see a female child do such, which makes them very important.

Male Child Is Better Than Female ChildĀ

ConclusionĀ

I recently watched a movie where a man needed a male child, so he could teach that child how to wrestle, so the child could win a gold medal for the country.

However, his wife kept giving birth to female children, until the man then realized it’s all about the mindset, and that one can also win medals regardless of gender, so he trained his two female kids to become great wrestlers, and they later won the medal for the country, which was his dream.

So the fight for gender shouldn’t be what to go for, but ask and pray for the perfect child, so you won’t have a child you will live to regret. Both the male and female children are important, but for debate, the above points will help you win.

Note: This article is solely for education purposes and not to bring any form of discrimination among male children and female children because both are important in every home.
