Greetings panel of judges, accurate timekeepers, ladies and gentlemen, I am here to support the motion that says Farmers are Better than Teachers, with the below valid points of mine.
Although farmers and teachers play various important roles in the society, we all know that the farmers provide food, and the teacher educated many to become better versions of themselves, but one profession is much more important than the other.
In this case, I am supporting the farmers to be more important and needed in the society than the teachers, so sit tight and listen to my points and reasons.

Debate On Farmers Are Better Than Teachers
Before I move on to explaining my debate points, let me start by telling you who a farmer is. In common explanation, a farmer is someone who does agricultural practices like planting crops and harvesting them for consumption purposes.
Taking care of animals or livestocks is also included in farming practices, which at the end provides food, and other raw materials for consumption or human usage.
Now, why do I think farmers are more important than teachers, here are my points.
1. Farmers Produce Food
It’s known to everyone that production of food is the core or major thing farmers do, which is the basic importance of them. For everyone to be alive and healthy is because of the hard work of a farmer.
If farmers are not in existence, tell me how we all can feed, including the teachers. So this basically means that farmers are the reason for our survival, which is a major point that proves farmers are better than teachers.
2. Reduction and Elimination of Hunger
There is less hunger among those who have farmers, or I can say there is less or no hunger in a society where farm activities are highly practised.
The farming profession has also brought about food preservation, and how to make use of the little to produce many, just like using a few corn to produce many by planting and nurturing them.
Furthermore, the process or act of processing certain farm products into another meal, like transforming corn into flour or cassava into Garri, is a top act of food processing teachers can’t do, and this proves another point that farmers are better than teachers.
3. Farmers Promote Nation’s GrowthÂ
The proper growth of a nation is achieved through hard work of farmers, which is majorly from their foods, raw materials and other things like job opportunities offered to youths.
With how much value added to the growth of the nation through farm activities, you will agree with me that farmers are better than teachers.
4. Availability of Jobs in The Farming Profession ( Self Employment)
Another point that proves farmers are better than teachers is the numerous job opportunities in this profession because it doesn’t require much knowledge or degree, just know how to farm and have the manpower and you are good.
Youths are offered Jobs in this profession and without certificates, they feed well and earn a reasonable amount of money that is helpful for themselves and can help sustain a family as well.
Lastly, you can be self employed, just have a farm land, and with the manpower and little knowledge on how to care for crops, you have gotten yourself a job and don’t need any other job to earn a good living, unlike teachers who depend on schools to employ them, also wait for month end to be paid their salary.

5. Farming is a Good Career PathÂ
Just as other professions are productive, the farming profession also does great in providing money, and also helping the economy, which makes it a highly demanding profession that shouldn’t be overlooked or underrated.
We have many wealthy farmers who earn more than teachers and are doing great, and this also proves that farmers are more important than teachers.
6. Less Education RequiredÂ
To become a farmer and earn well, you don’t need special education, rather the basic skills of farming, and the equipment and you are good to go.
Teachers shouldn’t be compared to farmers because even most teachers have farmlands where they plant and harvest things to eat. Without eating a teacher can’t have the strength to teach, so the sustainer or teachers are farmers.
7. Economic StabilityÂ
There is good growth in a nation’s economy through the help of farmers and their farm produce. We all know that what farmers produce is what traders market, and bring about exchange of goods and services in the marketplace.
Most things we use are manufactured through the raw materials obtained from farmlands, so tell me how we can survive without the farmers? Shouldn’t this point clarify to you that farmers are better than teachers?
8. Zero Risk of Losing Job
In the education space, a teacher can be sacked at any time or sent away when his or her duties are no longer needed. However, such a situation can’t be found in the farming sector.
So this proves that farmers are self employed and have control over how they operate their work and their rest time, which a teacher doesn’t. And the funny part is that the farmer can still earn far better than that teacher that is over stressed.
So tell me why you won’t vote for farmers to be better.

What are the Benefits of Farmers?
1. Farmers provide food and offer food security, ensuring that there are enough stored foods for future consumption, which reduces food scarcity in a nation.
2. Through the method of crop rotation, water conservation and others, farmers have promoted sustainable agriculture which have offered great importance to society or nation.
3. Creation of job opportunities to many youths and ensuring that some production companies are functioning, are all achieved by the duties of farmers.
