Let me use Nigeria as an instance, one of the major sources of their establishment and growth is crude oil, which has linked them to different good exchanges with other countries, which has boosted their economic growth and gained more profit for the country.
Many industries in Nigeria that do crude oil refining have also helped boost the growth of the country and its economy, and this is all thanks to crude oil which makes it more important than agriculture.

In this aspect, I can say both crude oil and agricultural practices have helped in tech advancement because of the modern machines and technologies used in operations.
However, the crude oil industry uses more machines, and this has brought about a higher advantage in technologies in most countries like Nigeria. This also proves that crude oil is better than agricultural oil.
More machines are constructed daily to help ease some industrial activities or help fasten some refining processes all thanks to crude oil.
